Community News: Firehouse Pizza Now Open, Reservoir Fundraiser, and more

  • Congratulations to Firehouse Blazing Pizza on celebrating their Grand Opening this past Saturday. The restaurant is now open at 488 Central Ave in the Heights. 
  • The Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance will be holding this year's Spring Annual Season Opener and fundraiser at Vaibhav at 737 Newark Ave on Thursday, 5/3. Single tickets as well as group tickets are available. 
  • The HDSID Farmers' Market at Grove Street is returning for the first time this season on Monday, 4/30. It will run every Monday and Thursday through December. 
  • Ozu Foods will be starting their summer hours this week and will only be serving lunch on Fridays from 11:30am-2:30pm.

Community News: Bone-In Launches Go Fund Me, Hyatt House Grand Opening,

  • Bone-In has launched a Go Fund Me to help them outfit their new kitchen and banquet space on Lima Family Farms which will help them expand and grow their overall business of providing farm-fresh, whole foods to the community. 
  • Join Atlas this Thursday 4/26 for their High West Core 4 whiskey tasting and four course dinner. It begins at 6:30pm and tickets are $75/person. Call for reservations.

Farmers Market Season Returns for 2018

This Saturday marks the start of Farmer's Market season in Jersey City! Markets throughout the city will begin opening over the next several weeks and run through the fall and early winter, bringing fresh produce, healthy snacks, skincare, baked goods, fish, grass-fed meat and more.

Community News: Autism Dinner at Hard Gove, Bang Cookie in the NYT & more

  • This Thursday, 4/19 Smile Preschool is hosting an Autism dinner at Hard Grove Cafe. Tickets are $50 each. 
  • Congratulations to Bang Cookies for their recent mentions in the NY Times. 
  • Modcup and Word Bookstore have teamed up so that Word Cafe will be serving all Modcup coffee.

MeltDown Offering Grilled Cheese


New shop MeltDown opened at 150 Bay a few weeks ago, in part of what used to be Transmission/Beat Street, offering a selection of grilled cheeses and soups.

Community News: Marketplace JC Opening Day, Graze and Braise New Spring Menu, and more

  • A manager at Domino's on Communipaw Ave was attacked by two on-duty cops over a problem with their pizza delivery. The attack was caught on security tape and the two officers have been suspended without pay and face criminal charges.
  • A burlesque show scheduled to run at FM had to be cancelled at the last minute after city attorneys threatened the restaurant with fines and penalties for violating local obscenity laws. The decision has been unpopular with the local community and further action is pending.
