Short Grain Expands with Tidal Poke Co.
Short Grain recently announced they're expanding in Jersey City with another storefront showcasing their new concept Tidal Poke Co.
After debuting their poke bowls at Project: Eats earlier this year, Short Grain (already well-loved for their Vietnamese-inspired casual fare and excellent coffee) has decided to bring the concept to Jersey City full time, opening up another store to focus solely on providing the currently trendy bowls to locals.
Poke bowls are a traditional Hawaiian dish, featuring cubes of high-grade, very fresh raw fish seasoned in a variety of ways and often served over a bowl of hot rice. Lauded for their health benefits and the diversity of recipes and flavors they can be used with, they've recently become very popular throughout the country. During their debut, Short Grain/Tidal Poke Co. brought along a lot of different toppings that could be added to the bowl to help create the seasoning including things like cucumbers, jalapenos, sesame seeds, nori, sriracha and even frizzled onions for a truly personalized bowl.
While they haven't announced an address for their upcoming project (Update: they're rumored to be opening at Harborside), Short Grain itself was up and running fairly quickly so hopefully we won't have too long to wait. In the meantime, follow along on the Tidal Poke Co. Instagram or Facebook for updates.
