Community News: Choc O Pain Delivering, Irish Cocktail Class at Liberty House and more

Jersey City


  • Congratulations to Andrea Salumeria whose Pete's Special Tuna sandwich was included on the list of 50 Restaurants for Your Last Meal in New Jersey.
  • Choc O Pain is now available for delivery from the downtown location via Postmates. 
  • Liberty House Restaurant is hosting an Irish Cocktail class on Wednesday, March 14th and they still have spots available. Appetizers will be served. The class starts at 7pm and tickets are $45/person.
  • Prince of Pizza is raffling off a 2 foot tall chocolate Easter Egg. Tickets are $2 or 3 for $5 and the drawing is March 29th. 
  • This Thursday, March 15th, join Satis Bistro for a Whiskey Tasting and a special menu of passed hors d'ouerves. Reservations are required. 
  • Van Hook Cheese and Jersey Wine and Spirits are hosting a Spanish Wine and Cheese pairing class on Wednesday, March 28th at 7pm. Tickets are $40 per person. 
  • Both Dolya Cafe and Hooked JC are currently hiring for kitchen and FOH staff.

  • Griot Cafe officially opened to the public this weekend. 

Outside Jersey City
  • Robert Sietsema of Eater named Fiore's and and Vito's and Son of Hoboken as some of the best places to get subs in the area as well as great local cheap eats. 
  • The research Rutgers is doing on hazelnuts (the same Razza uses) may end up help saving the Nutella industry. 
  • Congratulations to Caribbean Delicacies who were often at local Farmer's Markets on their first brick and mortar location coming soon to Carlstadt.
