Yesterday, Hamilton Park pub 9th and Coles announced they are planning to put their restaurant up for sale.

Van Hook Cheese & Grocery Opening Soon

New shop Van Hook Cheese & Grocery, 528 Jersey Avenue, is scheduled to open this Wednesday, 8/31 pending final code inspections.

Located right next to Choc-O-Pain Bakery on Jersey Avenue, the store is one of several specialty retailers and restaurants to open within a two block area over the past two years creating a small stretch of dedicated, ingredient-specific shops including Jersey City Fish Stand and Pasta Dal Cuore.

Jersey City Pride Events 2016

This Saturday, 8/27, is the 16th Annual Jersey City Pride Festival. It will run from noon-8pm on Newark Ave between Grove St. and Jersey Avenue and will feature live music, DJs, performers, food, drinks and dancing.

• Talde has expanded their brunch menu with three new dishes.
• This Thursday, 8/25, is New Jersey Breweries night at Barcade. Join them beginning at noon for craft beers from all over New Jersey including Alementary, Magnify, Demented, and Jersey City's own Departed Soles. 
• Busy Bee Organics is now hiring for part-time kitchen positions.

Würstbar Opens Friday

In addition to Cellar 335 opening earlier this week, Würstbar, which moved into the former Sushi Tango space, will be opening to the public on Friday, 8/19 at 4pm.

Short Grain Expands with Tidal Poke Co.

Short Grain recently announced they're expanding in Jersey City with another storefront showcasing their new concept Tidal Poke Co.

Cellar 335 Opening this Week

New tiki bar Cellar 335 will officially open their doors for service at 5pm this Tuesday, 8/16, to be followed by their more formal Grand Opening on Wednesday, 8/17.

Rotary Club Food Truck Festival

This Saturday, 8/6, The Rotary Club of Jersey City is holding their Inaugural Food Truck Festival, free and open to the public. Located at Gundy Pier by Exchange Place, the festival will run from 12:00-7:00pm and will have food, drinks, live music, entertainment for kids, and more.

Garden Steaks Pop-Up

Local catering company Garden Steaks is launching a weekly pop-up at McGinley Square Pub beginning this weekend.

The Citizen

Earlier this year, I wrote up a list of my favorite wings in Jersey City. And while I still stand by those recommendations, the new wing menu at The Citizen has them all beat.

Cellar 335 To Open Soon

Cellar 335, a new tiki bar and restaurant, is slated to open soon. While an exact date isn't yet known, the owners were pointing to an opening as early as this week. 

A Little Gelato Now Open

A new gelato shop, A Little Gelato, opened this weekend at 280 Central Ave. Replacing Amrit Taste of India restaurant, the shop sits next door to popular pizza place Renato's and is owned and operated by Jersey City Heights residents Kenneth and Christine.
