Your Guide to Thanksgiving 2018


Happy Thanksgiving Jersey City!

If you need a last minute dish, bottle of wine, or just want to know who's open and who's closed, read on for the complete guide to Thanksgiving in Jersey City:

Last Minute Gifts and Supplies
  • Van Hook will be open until 8pm on Wednesday and from 9am-1pm for the perfect cheese and charcuterie to start your meal with, hostess gifts, snacks, and more. 
  • Thirsty Quaker is open regular hours on Wednesday and from 11am-5pm on Thursday for craft beer, Corgi Spirits favorites, and all of your other drinking needs. 
  • Prato Bakery will be open until 2pm on Thanksgiving so you can grab some last minute cantucci, some fresh bread, or even a pre-Thanksgiving snack. 
  • Darke Pines is open until 7pm on Wednesday and they're carrying special Thanksgiving sides like their cranberry relish, a full range of snacks, and other butcher shop specialties. 
  • Torico is open until 10pm on Wednesday for pints, ice cream cakes, and more. 
  • CoolVines will be open from 10am-4pm on Thanksgiving Day as well as their regular hours on Wednesday for last minute wine, snacks, and more. 
  • Milk Sugar Love is closed on Thanksgiving, but will be open Wednesday and Friday through Sunday with a special pint sale, Thanksgiving cookies, ice cream cakes, and more. 
  • Gia Gelato is still accepting pie orders and they'll be available for pick-up until 11am on Thursday. 
  • Choc O Pain will be open from 7am to 1pm on Thanksgiving for bread, pastries, and more. 
  • Cocoa Bakery is open until 2pm on Thanksgiving and will have a limited selection of pastries, cookies, and other desserts. 

Thanksgiving Reservations
  • VB3 is offering a three course Thanksgiving menu with your choice of soup or salad, a turkey dinner with traditional sides, and either pumpkin creme brulee or roasted apple tart. 
  • Liberty Prime Steakhouse has a three course dinner available for $55/person - reservation only.
  • Fire and Oak is accepting reservations for Thanksgiving. Their full menu will be available.  
  • Liberty House Restaurant will be open from 1pm-6pm for a prix-fixe meal with a wide selection of appetizers and entrees. It's $62/adult and $30/child. 
  • Hard Grove is offering a free Thanksgiving meal from 10am-2pm to those in need and volunteers to help are welcome. 

Special Hours/Closed
It's safe to assume that most restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving Day itself, but read on for other closures or hour changes over the next few days:
  • WHOS Gluten-Free is closed all week long and will reopen next Wednesday, 11/28. 
  • Sam a.m. is closed on Thursday and Friday, reopening on Saturday. 
  • The OAK on Pine is closed through Thursday and will reopen on Friday. 
  • Just BeClaws is closed on Thursday and will reopen on Friday. 
  • Koro Koro is closed on Wednesday and Thursday, reopening Friday, 11/23 for post-Thanksgiving rice balls. 
  • Korai Kitchen will be closed for both Thanksgiving Day and Friday. 
  • Pinwheel Garden will be closed beginning Thursday and will reopen Tuesday, 11/27
  • Congress Station will be open from 7am-1pm on Thanksgiving so you can caffeinate for the day ahead, but will be closed on Black Friday. 
  • Darke Pines is closed on Thursday and Friday. 
  • Ani Ramen is closed on Thanksgiving, but is keeping regular hours Wednesday and Friday. 
  • 9 Bar Cafe will be closed at both locations for Thanksgiving. 
  • Enna Bakery will close at 2pm on Thursday. 
  • Square 1 is closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday and will be open from 8am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. 
  • Crema JC will be closed for Thanksgiving. 
  • Wurstbar will be closed for Thanksgiving but will have normal hours all the rest of the weekend. 
  • Latham House is closed Thursday & Friday but will reopen for brunch on Saturday. 
  • The Archer and Low Fidelity are both closed on Thanksgiving. 
  • Departed Soles is closed on Thanksgiving, but will be open from 4pm-10pm on Black Friday. 
  • SubCulture is closed on Thursday and will reopen at 4pm on Friday.
