The first thing you can't help but notice is it's huge. They did a great job with the build-out and there's plenty of counter space for displays and tastings and shelving all around the walls to house the new and substantially increased inventory. It still seems as though they're transitioning as there were some empty spots and missing prices, but the shelves are filling up and they've got tags on almost everything giving helpful information like staff recommendations, tasting notes, and food pairings which are worth taking your time to peruse.
The stock increase was especially reflected in their beer selection. They're carrying a wide variety of craft beers from all over the country and beyond including large format beers and what I especially liked, a selection of single beers from multi-packs available in their refrigerated section.
The increase in space has also led to a fairly large snack selection including specialty chips, bread, ready-made soups and sauces, and products from local vendors like Milk Sugar Love and Bread and Spoon. Milk Sugar Love had them stocked with seasonal and regular pints and ice cream sandwiches, making it a convenient outpost and ideal for grabbing wine and dessert. Bread and Spoon is providing fresh grab and go meals. When I was there, I saw a chicken salad, some quinoa bowls, and a couple of pasta dishes all nicely packaged and helpfully labeled with best by dates.
The staff was very knowledgeable about their stock and more than happy to answer questions. Tastings are offered every Friday and Saturday and with time, it seem like more options and events will be added.
Cool Vines is open Monday through Saturday from 10am - 10pm and from 10am-9pm on Sunday.
