Hudson Restaurant Week Winter 2017

Hudson Restaurant Week is returning on Monday, January 23rd and will be running through February 3rd, offering discounted prix fixe lunches and dinners at restaurants throughout Jersey City and Hudson County.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is getting close and Jersey City has lots of ways to celebrate!

Finding a Date
Iron Monkey is getting you started early with Beer Dating, a speed dating event with craft beer and lots of mingling. $25/person.

Although not specifically geared towards finding a date, the VVPA is hosting a Red Party at the Barrow Mansion on February 13th with food from Orale and Cocoa Bakery. Tickets are $20 until February 12th and $25 at the door.

Weekend Events

Start drinking a lot of coffee, Jersey City! You'll need it with all the great events happening around town this weekend!

Tonight, join the Chopping Block and El Chilango at the Lumberyard in Jersey City Heights for dinner beginning at 6:30pm and live music starting at 7pm. El Chilango has even created special shrimp and skirt steak dishes for the event!

942 Summit is hosting a special botanically-inspired Avant Garden event to benefit the Riverview Community Garden with custom-created goods and refreshments.

Community News

• Carrino Provisions still has tickets available for their La Quercia Sunday Supper next Sunday, June 28th. Tickets are $120 plus fees for a 5 course meal.
• WHOS Gluten Free has updated their hours for the summer and will be offering brunch on Sundays only
• After suffering water damage from a fire in their building, Taqueria Viva Mexico will be closed for an indeterminate time.
• Choc O Pain has started offering hamburger and hot dog buns for summer. They will be available on weekends.

Valentine's Day in Jersey City

Valentine's Day is around the corner and whether you're celebrating an old, new, or friends only relationship or just ready for a night out to enjoy yourself, there's a lot to drink and eat around town.

You can start celebrating early with Sam a.m.'s "Hearty" Thursday Supper Club this week with a wine pairing provided by Cool Vines.

Zeppelin Hall is hosting Stupid Cupid! starting Saturday night at 9pm. Singles get a red wristband to help the mingling, free hors d'ouerves will be served from 10pm on, and there's $3 Coors Light and wine all night.

Events in Jersey City

One of the things I love about Jersey City is that there's something for everyone, especially in the culinary world.

Of course, there's Hudson Restaurant Week which started earlier this week and will continue through next week. Restaurants all throughout Hudson County are offering special prix-fixe meals for you to enjoy.

Winter 2015 Hudson Restaurant Week is Here!

Next Monday, January 26th, marks the start of the biggest Hudson Restaurant Week yet!

Approximately 50 restaurants throughout Hudson County are participating in the 10 day event of discounted prix-fixe menus and close to half of those are in Jersey City.

Upcoming Events

It may be freezing outside, but there's still plenty to do, eat, and drink! Here are some of the best bets coming up:

Satis Bistro is holding a "Winter Wine Dinner" on Wednesday, January 21st. It begins at 7:30 pm and there will be six delicious-sounding tastings paired with wines presented by Cool Vines, Kermit Lynch, & IPO Wines.

Hudson Restaurant Week is here!

Beginning today, July 28th and running through Friday, August 8th, restaurants all over Hudson County will be participating in Hudson Restaurant Week, offering prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner. Prices for lunch range from $13-$20  and dinners run from $23-$40 depending on the restaurant.

• Speaking of, local favorite Carmella's not only sells from the truck, but they also have a catering menu available.
• Beginning today, June 1st, and running through June 8th, Cocoa Bakery is honoring National Cancer Survivor Day by selling special blueberry cupcakes and all proceeds will go to Chemo Comfort. Please help support this worthy cause.

Weekend and Mother's Day

Another weekend is here and once again, there's plenty to eat do in Jersey City, especially if you're looking for ways to celebrate Mother's Day.

On Friday at 4pm, join Roman Nose for their ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor and as they kick-off the weekend with their new Ora Felice Happy Hour.

You can also get an early jump on Mother's Day by checking out Madame Claude Wines on Friday as they host the launch for ZenGarage's Mothers Day Collection. There will be wine and brazilian cocktails for tasting!

This Saturday is the re-opening of Pacific Flea for the season, and to celebrate, they're having a special celebration including crafts, live music, and of course, food - the Grill Guyz are going to be there and since they're not often in downtown jersey city, this is an ideal time to check them out. And pick yourself up something awesome.

Valentine's Events in Jersey City

While I personally am of the opinion that you should engage in good drinks and good food as often as humanly possible, regardless of your romantic situation, Valentine's Day is well-known as a day for delicious indulgence, so why not enjoy it? There are plenty of options around Jersey City to help you out.

First up, a pre-Valentine social event for both singles and couples next Tuesday, Feb 11th!

Hosted by Garden State Food Tours and held in the cozy and creative atmosphere of LITM, this event promises you two custom cocktail creations from LITM as well as some decadent desserts from All Kinds of Whoopie and Milk Sugar Love for $35/person. In addition, LITM will be running some other drinks specials that evening so you can keep the fun going and maybe make some new friends with a little liquid courage!
