Restaurants have the choice of offering a prix-fixe lunch, dinner, or both. Lunches run from $15-$20 and dinners range between $25-$40, typically for three courses.

I've had varying degrees of success with Restaurant Week meals and my recommendations are:
- Try going someplace new. Whether it's the place you've kept meaning to go and never gotten around to or a restaurant you've never heard of, this is a great time to explore.
- Find a place where the discounts are worth it Don't go someplace where you're only going to save a dollar then you might as well go any other time and get exactly what you want rather than be limited to the set menu.
- Speaking of the set menu - spend some time checking out the Restaurant Week menus online and make sure you're interested in the menu as a whole, not just one entree or one appetizer. You're there to enjoy the entire meal.
- Read reviews of the restaurant. Make sure it's the atmosphere you're looking for - but also take everything with a grain of salt.
