National Taco Day

Today is National Taco Day and while I'm not a big believer in food holidays (although love holidays with food), National Taco Day is something I can get behind.

Delivery from Taqueria

Taqueria Downtown recently opened another outpost on Grove Street that will focus on catering, take-out, and delivery orders. Taqueria is one of the most popular spots in Jersey City, but after so long of being eat-in/take-out only, I was curious to see how they'd hold up for delivery.

Short answer: Not Well.

Tortilla Soup at Taqueria Downtown

Several weeks ago, I went to Taqueria Downtown for the first time in a long time and when I was there, I saw they had some new additions to the menu including several new fillings for tacos like beef tongue, flank, and head.

However, I decided to really go outside my standard order (tacos. always tacos.) and try the tortilla soup. I've always liked tortilla soup, but this was far and away one of the best I've had.
