Community News: Oliva Now Open, Ani Ramen Hosts Soul of Sake, After the Harvest Food & Wine and More

Jersey City

  • Oliva Market is now open in the former Tender Shoot location. They have a small selection of prepared food, drinks, snacks, fresh produce, and dairy. 
  • Ani Ramen is holding a special Soul of Sake event, hosted by Miss Sake USA, this Tuesday, 10/23. Tickets are $42 and include two sakes, two Suntory whiskeys, three appetizers served family style, and a bowl of ramen of your choice. 
  • This Thursday, 10/25, join Satis Bistro for A Taste of Spain - a four course dinner and wine pairing for $75/person
  • Join Hudson County Community College next Saturday, 10/27, for the Culinary Arts Institute's After the Harvest Wine & Food Event from 1-5pm. There will be representatives from wineries around the state with tastings, culinary pairings, and more. Tickets are $25/person.
  • Congratulations to PS Wine Bar on celebrating their second anniversary. 
  • South House will be featured in an upcoming episode of the Travel Channel's Food Paradise. Filming was done in the restaurant this past Saturday during brunch. 
  • Third & Vine is hosting Casablanca Nights on 10/25, a five course dinner inspired by and paired with wines from Morocco, Spain, Portugal, and France. Reservations are required and it's $65/person. 
  • Congratulations to Cocoa Bakery on celebrating 5 years in business. 

Outside Jersey City
  • Humus & Pita Co., a much-loved Manhattan chain, will open their first New Jersey location in Holmdel next month. This is their fifth location overall. 
  • Via Hoboken Girl, Elysian Cafe, a classic French bistro and oldest operating bar in Hoboken, has been bought by head chef Travis Young, restauranter Steve Schneider, and a team of investors. No immediate changes are planned.
