Weekend Round-Up: West Side Chili Cook-Off, Ghost of Uncle Joe's, and More!

Happy Weekend, Jersey City! The weekend is full of fall events like hot chocolate and s'mores at Lutze's End of Season Party, a Chili Cook-Off, and The Ghost of Uncle Joe's along with much, much more. Here's what's going on:

Shucktoberfest, Zeppelin Hall
Head to Zeppelin Hall this weekend for their three day long Shucktoberfest featuring oysters on the half shell for $1.50 each. They'll have live 90s bands on Friday, a DJ on Saturday, and football all day Sunday.

End of the Season Celebration, Lutze Biergarten
This Friday night is Lutze Biergarten's End of the Season Celebration. Beginning at 4pm and going all night long, head to the Lutze for $5 beer, wine, and mixed drinks as well as fall favorites like hot chocolate, s'mores, and fire pits.

Ghost of Uncle Joe's, The Historic Harsimus Cove Cemetery
This Saturday is the return of annual favorite The Ghost of Uncle Joe's. The Halloween-themed fundraiser is full of live music with bands running from 1pm-10pm with pop-up food vendors and drinks available for purchase. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the gate with the money going towards the cemetery. There will also be after-parties with more live music, food, and drinks at LITM, Pet Shop, FM, Low Fidelity, and Porta.

Marketplace JC, 136 Magnolia Ave
The Marketplace JC returns this weekend with live music provided by Riverview Jazz, beer from PJ Ryan's, hand-crafted and vintage goods, and food from vendors like Lady G Empanadas.

The We Project Food Truck Festival Fundraiser, Pershing Field
Join the We Project, a group dedicated to taking action to help those in need, for their Food Truck Fundraiser this Saturday from 12-7pm at Pershing Field in JC Heights. It's a family-friendly day with performances, a Halloween Costume Contest, health screenings and more. There will be 7 food trucks there including Bacon Me Crazy, Jerkin Chicken, and Jeannie's Cupcakes and admittance is free, but they do ask for a non-perishable canned or boxed good to donate.

5 Year Anniversary Party, Left Bank Burger Bar
Congratulations to Left Bank Burger Bar on celebrating their 5 Year Anniversary! They'll be celebrating with a party on Saturday night from 10pm - 2am with a $5 cover charge.

Diwali Festival of Lights, City Hall
This Sunday, 10/21, join the SCA Festival of Lights Diwali celebration in front of City Hall, 200 Grove Street, from 12pm-6pm. There will be live music, performances, a raffle, kid-friendly events, henna, and lots of delicious Indian food!

West Side Chili Cook-Off, Lincoln Park
This Sunday marks the 4th Annual West Side Chili Cook-Off! Running from 12pm-2pm, this is one of my favorite community events of the year. It's free to attend (although donations are appreciated) and you get the chance to sample a wide range of chilis from all over and a chance to vote for your favorite. At the end of the cook-off, two winners are crowned: Judges Choice and People's Favorite. Swing by to get in the fall spirit.
