Community News: PS Wine Bar Named 1 of 15 Best, Thinking Cup Cafe Now Open, Ghost of Uncle Joe's & Mine

Jersey City

  • Congratulations to PS Wine Bar on being named one of the 15 Most Important Natural Wine Bars in America! PS Wine Bar has become one of my personal favorite spots with a creative and innovative wine list that encourages experimentation. 
  • New coffee shop Thinking Cup Cafe opened quietly last week at 201 Warren Street in the former Two Aprons space. They describe themselves a fast casual restaurant specializing in Mediterranean-American inspired cuisine, carrying soups, sandwiches, pastries and more. 
  • This Monday, 10/15, is the last day to sign up for the annual West Side Chili Cook-Off! The Cook-Off will take place this coming Sunday, 10/21 from 12pm-2pm. It's free to participate and there is a judge's choice award as well as a people's choice. You can register here
  • Congratulations to Lo-Fi on being named one of the 20 Best New Pizzerias in New Jersey for their Detroit-style pizza. 
  • Next Saturday, The Ghost of Uncle Joe's returns to Harsimus Cemetery. It runs from 1pm - 10pm with after-parties happening at FM, Lo-Fi, Pet Shop, Porta, and LITM and there will be live music and food and drinks available for purchase. 
  • Join Satis Bistro next Thursday, 10/28 for their four course wine dinner: A Taste of Spain. It will begin at 7:30pm and is $75/person
  • ICYMI - it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and I rounded up some of your best local turkey options


Outside Jersey City

  • Jersey Girls Food Tours is expanding to Somerville! Their first tour will launch on Nov. 3rd and is known as A Tour Around the World
  • Congratulations to Benny Tudino's in Hoboken on celebrating 50 years in business. Known for their giant slice, Benny Tudino's opened in 1968 and remains family-owned. 
  • Reminder: Bone-In is hosting a Fall Harvest Pig Roast and Farm Tour next Saturday, 10/20 from 1pm-7pm at Lima Family Farms in Hillsborough Township. 
  • The new Caldwell location of Diesel and Duke is set to open within the next three weeks.
