Community News: Doughnut & Beer Tasting, Piggyback Bar to Launch Brunch, Hudson Hall Grand Opening

Jersey City

  • Growing in Jersey City and Glam About Town are hosting a special Halloween Doughnut and Beer Tasting at FM on Halloween night from 7-10pm for $35/person. There are four pairings and the doughnuts are being provided by Glazed & Confused.
  • Australian-inspired natural wine bar and eatery Frankie will be opening to the public for dinner this week. 
  • Congratulations to Departed Soles who celebrated two years since the Tasting Room opened, Left Bank Burger Bar who celebrated four years in business, Roman Nose who celebrated five years, and PS Wine Bar on marking one year since opening. 
  • Local market Sub Hub has expanded to a second location, opening up a new supermarket on Kennedy Blvd near Tonnelle.
  • Hudson Hall will be celebrating their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting this Friday at 4pm. There will be $5 house beers, $10 pastrami sandwiches, and live music. 
  • Porta is offering a $25 fall special of either a marinara or margherita pizza, 2 pints of seasonal beer, and a mini-pumpkin to take home. 
  • Piggyback Bar is officially opening for brunch next weekend. 
  • This Tuesday, join Smith & Chang from 4-6pm for their annual Pumpkin Patch. 
  •  Reminder: Satis Bistro is hosting a five course Austrian Wine Dinner on 10/26. Reservations are required.

Outside Jersey City
  • The Daily Meal named six NJ Pizzerias among the 101 Best in the Country (including Razza). 
  • Per Hoboken Girl, Charritos has closed their uptown location in Hoboken while their midtown and downtown locations will remain open. New Italian Restaurant 10th Street Pizza and Pasta also opened their doors to the public.
