Summer means New Jersey produce comes to abundant life and in celebration of that, it's time for Riverview Farmer's Market Annual Perfect Peach Pie Contest, back again this year for the 7th year in a row.

• Stop by Choc O Pain anytime this March for their special black and purple cookie honoring Women's History Month. A portion of all proceeds will go to I Am That Girl, an organization dedicated to providing empowerment opportunities, tools, and a community for girls everywhere. 
• Modcup has opened a pop-up counter in Plaza 5 of Harborside. It opens at 7am every Monday through Friday. They also currently have the truck serving coffee in the atrium between Plazas 2 & 3. 

Weekend Events: $1 coffee at Grind, Departed Soles' Oktoberfest, Smith Wine Festival, & more

Friday, Sept. 29th

• Swing by the Grind Shop to celebrate National Coffee Day with $1 small drip coffee.

• Kick off the fall season with Oktoberfest at Departed Soles. They'll be releasing their very first lager, Helles Island and they'll have custom, limited edition steins available in the tasting room to give it a proper Oktoberfest tasting. They're also releasing Kimberly, a milkshake IPA.

• This Sunday, October 1st, the Riverview Farmers Market will host the People's Choice Apple Dessert contest. Anyone is welcome to bring an apple dessert made with NJ apples and anyone is allowed to taste and judge for a $5 ballot fee. 
• Congratulations to Whealth who have now officially opened for business 7 days a week at 615 Pavonia Ave. 
• For the next week through 10/1, Third & Vine is featuring the gin-based Bee's Knees cocktail. $2 from every cocktail sold will go to organizations to help support and protect bees.

• Zinburger, wine and gourmet burger bar, has scheduled their opening at Newport for July 1st. 
• Cocoa Bakery is participating in Confections for Comfort through Sunday, June 11th. Proceeds from their lemon-blueberry cupcake will go to Chemo Comfort, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients going through Chemo. 
• Riverview Farmers Market has put together their schedule of events for June. 
• The Riverview Jazz Festival will have events all week including several at Fox and Crow, Madame Claude Bis, The Archer and more. 
• After a temporary pause, Mordi's is carrying Baonanas on the truck again.
• The newest location of Brewshot is now open at the Cast Iron Lofts, 837 Jersey Ave. 
• Sam a.m. has added huevos rancheros to their permanent summer menu - and they're also making some progress at The OAK on Pine. 
• Milk Sugar Love will be parking outside of Charles & Co. every Thursday through August from 5-8pm for new event, Shops & Scoops.

Outside Jersey City

• NJ.com put together a comprehensive list of all the summer food festivals around New Jersey.
• Natalie Colledge of gluten-free Plum Bakery in Montclair was recently featured on Jersey Bites. 
• Virginia-based Sedona Taphouse, serving over 500 craft beers, will soon be opening in Cliffside Park.

• Next Sunday, August 7th, Scott of Nature's Own Farm will be hosting a Customer Appreciation Day cookout with help from Dark Side of the Moo at the Riverview Farmer's Market.
• On Sunday 8/13, Whealth and Harborside By Mack-Cali are joining together to host a jazz brunch from 11am-4pm.
• Grove Square has introduced a new sushi bar.
• Lafayette Corner Store has started stocking fresh seasonal produce from Ort Farms and will carry it throughout the growing seasons.

• Congratulations to Dullboy, named one of the 18 Best Bars in America by Esquire. 
• Coach House is hosting a Bourbon Tasting Night on Tuesday, 5/31 from 7:30-9pm for $20/person. The night includes passed appetizers, tasting of brands Makers Mark, Basil Hayden's, and Buffalo Trace and features how to make the bourbon-based Mint Julep and Manhattan.
