Community News: Corto to Launch Lunch Service, Diesel & Duke $1 Burger Day, Fort Lee Restaurant Week

Jersey City

  • Join the Jersey City Public Library for their fundraiser at PJ Ryan's Squared this Thursday, 9/20.  Tickets are $20 and include food and drinks. 
  • Corto announced they'll soon be launching lunch service. While no official date has been announced, more information and the menu will be coming soon. 
  • The Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy is hosting a special evening called Slice of History: Pizza & Jersey City. Scott from Scott's Pizza Tours will be there to cover the history of pizza in Jersey City along with a variety of featured pies. The event is on Tuesday, 10/23 and tickets are $25. 
  • Bang Cookies has started offering cookie cakes, made in all their favorite classic flavors. They're available for order online with 24 hour notice. 
  • Diesel & Duke is holding a $1 Burger Day this Wednesday, 9/19. From 5-7pm, get a burger for $1 at any of their locations. 
  • Join Have a Night JC and Pizza Vita for a Sangria Social on Wednesday, 9/26, featuring three courses paired with three sangrais. There will be pizza, a DJ, and more in Pizza Vita's garden.
  • Surf City Bar has officially closed for the season. This weekend was their last open weekend until 2019. 

Outside Jersey City
  • Soul Curry and Shaka Bowl celebrated their ribbon-cutting and official Grand Openings in Hoboken last week. 
  • Fort Lee is holding their annual Restaurant Week beginning Monday, 9/24, with 47 different restaurants participating. They're also holding a special Kick Off Tasting Tour on 9/25 featuring celebrity chefs including Dale Talde and Leah Cohen. 
  • NJ.com has put together a list of the 33 best Mexican restaurants in New Jersey based on Yelp rankings and reviews. It features restaurants from all over the state including some solid North Jersey options.
