Is this common in Jersey City? I've read from a few new restaurants that opening up was really difficult in the city. What's the reason?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's very common. I've yet to hear a single restaurant say they've opened up without any issues. Sometimes it's just caused by really old buildings which cause construction issues, but apparently the inspection/permit process is really inefficient and drawn-out. Lots of inspection cancellations, lots of red tape.
DeleteAww that really stinks. JC has so much potential, it's annoying that it's obstructed by red tape.
DeleteAgreed. Especially with the amount of growth going on, it's really discouraging to see so many of these smaller businesses run into so much trouble and be impeded. I gather it's substantially better than it used to be, but there's still a long way to go.
