Thanksgiving in Jersey City 2014

Wondering what to do and where to eat before, during, and after Thanksgiving? Here's a list of what's happening in Jersey City.
  • La Conguita is already offering turkey specials and will be open from 8am-5pm on Thursday and 8am-10pm on Friday.
  • Taphaus will have $5 Jameson and Fireball shots and $1 off all drinks, beer, and wine on Wednesday to celebrate Thanksgiving Eve.
  • Pint will be open until 2am on Wednesday and open from 5pm to 2am on Thursday in case you need a late night to recover from a day with the family.
  • Me Casa will be open on Thursday by reservation only and will be serving a special turkey stew.
  • Hamilton Inn, Thirty Acres, Third and Vine, The Big Straw, Roman Nose, Battello, Satis Bistro and White Star Bar are among those closed on Thursday, but open Wednesday and Friday.
  • Sam am will be closed Thursday and Friday, but open over the weekend so you can still brunch well.
  • modcup will be open from 9am-12pm on Thursday if you need to caffeinate prior to gorging. They'll also be holding a brew class & coffee 101 on Sunday at 10am. Reserve your place by emailing modcupcoffee@gmail.com
  • Second Street will be allowing holiday orders for pick-up through Wednesday but will be closed Thursday and re-open Friday.
  • The Iron Monkey will continue their long-running tradition of offering complimentary Thanksgiving dinners to seniors or any others in need. While it's too late to reserve your spot, walk-ins are welcome.
  •  Fire & Oak, Vu Restaurant, Liberty Prime, VB3, Bistro La Source, Raaz and Max's Restaurant of the Philippines are all open on Thanksgiving and still have reservations available.
  • Madame Claude's will be open from 11am- 5pm on Thankgiving day for all your restocking shopping needs.
  • St. Paul's Church is hosting a community Thanksgiving dinner from 2pm-7pm on Thursday. All are welcome.
  • In probably the only kind of Black Friday shopping I personally endorse, Thirsty Quaker will be having an extravaganza sale on Friday - 10% off anything black from stout to bottle caps.
This list will continue to be updated, so keep on checking back.

Happy Thanksgiving Jersey City!

  1. Do you know if any bakeries will be open on Thursday for last minute pies or cakes? Thanks!

    1. I know Cocoa Bakery will be open until 2pm, but I'd recommend getting there as early as you can.
