Voting Day is TODAY

Today is Voting Day for Mid-Term Elections and it is crucial that you vote if you haven't already.

This is *the* way to make your voice heard and at a time when elections have come down to a handful of votes and there is so much riding on who we have in office at both local and Federal levels, it is especially imperative.

The Jersey Journal has broken down the votes that are happening in Hudson County. In Jersey City specifically, we're voting for:

  • US Senate - the main candidates are Robert Menendez (D) and Bob Hugin (R)
  • US House of Representatives  - broken down by district
  • Board of Education - there are three seats up for grabs.
  • 1 public question - regarding the state's authority to sell $500 million in government bonds to fund state-wide vocational schools and make capital improvements.
For more information on every voting item, go to ballotready.org and type in your address.
For information specific to the Board of Education candidates, check jerseycityed.com
You can also find an Op-Ed here which breaks down a lot of the objections to the measure: https://www.nj.com/opinion/index.ssf/2018/11/no_to_the_ballot_question_and_more_bad_borrowing_e.html

To find your polling place, go here - https://voter.njsvrs.com/elections/polling-lookup.html Polls are open from 6am-8pm so please vote!
