Organic Cafe LOLO Opens

When JuiceWell on Jersey Ave (between Columbus and Newark) closed a few months ago, they promised another juice company was going to move in, but for a long time, it didn't seem like much was happening. Until this past Sunday when I walked by, noticed people in the store, and a menu outside.

LOLO (Loved Ones Love Organics) has opened, bringing fresh cold-pressed juice and much more. Calling themselves a root bar, it seems to be an organic, health food-focused cafe and store with raw, vegan, and gluten-free options.  The lettering on the window promises organic coffee, teas, house-made milks, oatmeal, soups, salads, and desserts among other things.  There were a couple of tables set-up inside, but there isn't room for a full scale cafe.

The menu looked to be pretty extensive and offers meals and snacks for eating in-house and to go. There were things like an everything sprouted bagel with cashew cream cheese, nacho kale almonds, smoothies, artichoke walnut pate, black bean chili, and coconut truffles just as examples. I haven't tried anything yet, but I'm happy to see more variety in Jersey City, especially a vegan-friendly place with such a wide range of options.

They're open at 528 Jersey Avenue from 7:30am-10pm every Mon-Fri and 8:30am-9pm on the weekends.
