Chick-fil-A, the Georgia based fast food chicken chain, is opening in the Newport Mall. Part of the recently much rehabbed dining space, they will celebrate their Grand Opening on Wednesday, November 11th and it's fair to say that large crowds are expected.
As usual, the company will celebrate the opening by giving away a year's worth of Chick-fil-A to the first hundred customers (a gift card worth 52 meals) and people often start lining up the night before in order to have early access to the restaurant and be part of some of the giveaways. The Jersey Journal has more details on how Newport Mall will be handling the crowds.
In recent years, Chick-fil-A has faced a lot of controversy for anti-gay remarks made by their president and for accusations of animal cruelty, but they remain extremely popular and always draw large crowds and have a pretty adamant following. If you're not a fan of the crowds or the politics, you can also always make them on your own.
Chick-fil-A isn't the only new dining spot to hit Newport Mall. The Cheesecake Factory is taking over 10,000 square feet in the mall to open their first Jersey City location and they expect to open their doors in early December.
So.....nothing's really going on food wise in JC lately is pretty much what your saying.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us Newport Mall is part of JC too...
