Madame Claude Bis to Open This Week

Madame Claude Bis, owned and run by husband and wife team Mattias Gustafsson and Alice Troletto, is tentatively scheduled to open tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1st.  confirmed open as of June 1st. They'll be open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner (with Manouche Bag playing every Thursday) and will offer brunch on the weekends beginning at 9am.

Madame Claude Bis, 390 4th Street, is located on the lower level of White Eagle Hall and will be the replacement for the former Madame Claude Cafe at 364 1/2 4th Street. While the original intention was to keep Madame Claude Cafe open while also running Madame Claude Bis, they eventually decided to close the cafe and the building housing the cafe has been slated for demolition as part of a new development. The cafe closed for good last week and in the meantime, there's been a flurry of activity to get the new site set-up.

The new location will be substantially larger than the cafe with some outdoor space, seating upwards of 80 people, and will have an expanded menu as well as a full bar with specialty cocktails and a well-stocked wine cellar. The atmosphere will be very similar to the original cafe with a casual, intimate french bistro feel. The menu will also retain most of the original menu with some updates and a wider range of entree options.

For now, you can follow along with the updates by checking out their Instagram page
