The Factory in Bergen-Lafayette Is Now Open

The Factory Restaurant and Lounge, 451 Communipaw Avenue, quietly opened its doors late last week to launch their partial soft opening.

Owned and operated by life-long resident Robert Paulino, The Factory is envisioned as a family restaurant with a late night lounge, available to meet the neighborhood's needs with a little something for everyone. Housed in a former factory, the space itself was inspired by area iron and wood design factories and features an industrial feel with a lot of wood furniture and accents all throughout the space.

The menu will draw from a variety of international cuisines with a stronger focus on Latin American flavors and ingredients. There will be everything from steak to plantain cups to gnocchi, a raw bar, and an extensive wine list along with a variety of beers and cocktails. After they've officially celebrated their Grand Opening, The Factory will also begin offering brunch with a specialty pancake menu. Currently, prices range from $8-$35 and there are vegetarian and gluten-free options, but nothing specifically vegan.

For now, the hours are from 4pm to 3am on the weekend, but the permanent hours will run from 11am-2am Sunday through Thursday and 11am-3am on Fridays and Saturdays. According to IG user cornertablejc, the dining and bar areas are currently open but the lounge is still under renovation. The current plan is to be ready to open it up within the next month. The Factory is located close to Berry Lane Park and there's a Citibike rack right across the street for easy and convenient transit.

Stay tuned for further details on the Grand Opening.
