Despite the many, many days of frigidly cold weather we've been having, there's still plenty going on in Jersey City and it's high time to be part of it! There are lots of events, Super Bowl related and not, happening all over the city and happily, many of them involve food and/or drink.
Tonight, 1/30, Jersey City Ties is holding their 1st Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser for $10/person at the Lamp Post Bar and Grill at 382 2nd Street. There will be a grand prize and there will be good times: https://www.facebook.com/events/204496256419453/?fref=ts
While not actually in Jersey City, there's also the Super Bowl Celebration Winter Blast going on Thurs-Saturday in Secaucus. There will be hockey games, ice skating, and shops, but more importantly, it will be a food truck extravaganza (and there's a beer garden)! Check here for more info.
Friday afternoon is Downtown Yogurt's Grand Opening with the official Ribbon Cutting at 4:30pm and to celebrate, they will be giving away free yogurt from 4:30-6:00pm! They'll also have promotional discounts all weekend long! I think that's worth stopping by for, don't you?
Also in celebration of new businesses downtown, Tea NJ will be holding a pre-opening beginning at 2pm on Saturday with specials and surprises. Vegans, vegetarians, and non vegs are all welcome! They've been tweeting out some amazing photos of what's to come when they open over the past few weeks, so go see what you can look forward to!
This Saturday is the 1st Annual Chilltown Craft Beer Festival at the Culinary Conference Center. There are two sessions, the first from 1pm-4pm and the second from 7pm-10pm and breweries include NJ Beer Company, Lagunitas, Smuttynose, Carton Brewing, Newburgh Brewing, 21st Amendment Brewing, Uinta, Climax Brewing, Yards, Brooklyn Brewery, New Holland, Elysian, and Flying Dog. Tickets are $75 with proceeds going to the Visiting Homemaker Service of Hudson County Child Abuse Prevention Program.
This weekends, there's lots of Super Bowl related events and parties going on, but I'll have another post on that coming up! Enjoy your winter, Jersey City!
