Dolma Opens!

Dolma, a new Mediterranean restaurant at 270 Grand Street (sort of in between Grand and Bright), opened for business recently.

As of yet, there's not a lot of information about this place and I haven't found a menu online, but it come from the same owner of Two Aprons in Paulus Hook and is similarly Mediterranean-inspired although I believe we can look forward to an expanded menu and more entree-type options.
They're currently only open for lunch Tuesdays-Fridays, but I think it's safe to assume that's just for now as part of a soft opening and they'll soon expand their hours.

Dolma is the first of the most recent wave of Jersey City restaurants and bars under construction to actually open, but we can look forward to more in the not-too-distant future.

  1. There hasn't been anything in that space since the failed bagel place about 7 or 8 years ago. Kind of a tough location being practically in the middle of the road, but I hope it does well.

  2. It took him over 2 years to actually open this place! I guess city permits are killer. Same thing with City Diner way back. It took them also 2 years or so and they were ready after remodeling waiting empty for the city to act. This has to change!

    1. Agreed. I've heard a lot of complaints from local businesses about the inspection and permit process. It's not conducive at all to small businesses.
