Community News: Rooftop at Hyatt House Now Open, Liberty House Cocktail Class, and more

  • Porta has launched a new winter dessert: a peppermint and vanilla bean gelato swirl sundae with crushed candy canes, dark chocolate, and a cherry on top. 
  • Join Atlas in celebrating Repeal Day on Tuesday 12/5, marking the passing of the 21st amendment which repealed Prohibition. They'll have $7 snacks and tapas all night along with prohibition-era cocktails. 
  • After extensive renovation, The Rooftop at Hyatt House at 1 Exchange Place overlooking the Hudson and NYC skyline is now open for lunch, drinks, and dinner. 
  • Bambino Chef is hosting several gingerbread house decorating workshops for kids to help celebrate the season. RSVP for the sessions held on 12/9, 12/10, and 12/23.
  • Liberty House Restaurant is holding a Holiday Cocktail class on 12/13 at 7pm. You'll learn how to make your own holiday drinks while enjoying passed appetizers for $45/person. 
  • Bang Cookies is hosting a holiday cookie decorating contest on IG. Decorate their cookies, post a pic online tagging them, and the most creatively decorated will win a box of cookies. 
  • Goody's, the long-standing Chinese/Spanish food take out spot on Newark and Coles closed recently and there's now a "For Rent" sign in the window. 
  • In case you missed it, Wurstbar rolled out a new and expanded menu last week. 

Outside Jersey City
  • Join Squeeze'd for the soft opening of their new shop in Bayonne on Thursday, 12/7. They'll be open from 9am-6pm and will be giving away free samples from 11am-3pm. 
  • There's still time to get $20 off your tickets to the Kearny Point Craft Brew Classic Festival on January 27th. The event will feature craft breweries from all over New Jersey, food, a DJ and more. Use code EARLYBIRD for $20 off ticket price. 
  • Northern Soul Kitchen & Bar has started serving the vegan Impossible Burger. They have it available both in-house and for delivery. 
  • The Communal Table, a pop-up supper club based out of Hoboken, will be holding a special holiday Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner this Saturday, 12/9 at 8pm.
