Community News: Egg Curry Now Open, Rosé & Cheese Pairing Class, Talde's New Prix Fixe, & More

Jersey City
  • New vegetarian Indo-Chinese restaurant Egg Curry opened up this weekend at 280 Central Ave in the Heights. They will be closed on Tuesdays, but otherwise open from noon-10pm during the week and noon-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. 
  • Join Van Hook Cheese and Jersey Wine & Spirits this Thursday at 7pm for their Rosé and Cheese pairing event. There will be five pairings along with information on production technique, tasting notes, and the history of what you're enjoying. Tickets are $40/person.
  • Dark Side of the Moo has a new free game app. It's called Burger Crusader and can help win you free food. 
  • Talde has launched a new Sunday Supper three course prix fixe menu featuring a selection of favorite dishes from their recent Restaurant Week menu and their a la carte menus. It will be $30 per person with discounted pricing on house wine and select beers. 
  • Paella Fest has started at Surf City. They'll have a special menu with 10 different kinds of paella available through August 26th. 
  • Fire House Blazing Pizza has started offering Detroit-style deep dish pizza. 
  • Subia's Vegan Cafe will be on vacation all this week, reopening next Tuesday, 8/28.
  • Pizza Vita has opened up their backyard courtyard area for the rest of the summer. 

Outside Jersey City
  • Via Hoboken Girl, the Loquito Taco Shop pop-up is coming back to O'Bagel in Hoboken. First launched last year, the pop-up is coming back on a more permanent basis and will be open as of August 30th. After their initial soft opening, they will serving every Thursday through Sunday from 5pm to midnight.
  • Via Boozy Burbs, Philly Pretzel Factory has expanded into Hasbrouck Heights and is now open. Their menu features a variety of hand-twisted pretzels with a selection of mustards, cheese dip, and other dips.
