Community News: Paisano's Opening Jersey City Outpost, FM Reopens as Live Music Venue, and more.

  • Join Art House Productions for their Cocktails Under the Stars fundraiser at Charles & Co. on Wednesday, August 9th. There will be an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and music. Tickets are $45 in advance.
  • Yelp is offering free food delivery from any of their partnered businesses from now through September 4th. 
  • Congratulations to Hudson Kitchen for making it to Top 10 Finalist round in Rising Tide's Start Something NJ challenge. They're officially in the running to win 10k to help grow their business. 
  • Congratulations to Pet Shop on celebrating their 1st anniversary! Join them on August 3rd for a never-ending happy hour, an Entenmann's donut buffet, and more.

  • Feed JC is collecting hats, gloves, and scarves through 12/22 to donate on Christmas Day. Pick-up spots include Base NJ, Whealth, Squeeze'd, Garden Steaks, World Boxing Gym, O'Leary's, Light Rail Cafe.
  • Congratulations to The Hudson Kitchen on finding commercial kitchen space which will be available for lease beginning 1/3/17. 
  • A new juice bar, Tropix Juice, has opened at 245 Central Ave.

  • Congratulations to O'Leary's on celebrating their 2nd anniversary. Keep in mind they also have a special $5 football menu
  • Another new poke spot is coming to Jersey City. Pokay will be opening at 283 Newark Ave in the Village. 
  • Wurstbar has extended their hours to now open at noon on weekends and they'll also be offering weekly poutine and sausage specials. 
  • The St. Joseph Parish Festival is returning this Wednesday through Saturday at 511 Pavonia Ave. The menu includes pasta, eggplant, rice balls, zeppole, and pastries from Carlo's Bakery.

  • Hudson Kitchen is holding the next Table Talk Live event on Wednesday, September 21st at 6:30pm. It will be a Speed Networking event with food industry experts in everything from operations to branding to funding.
  • Koro Koro will be temporarily closing for necessary repairs, but in the meantime, they're opening a second location in Hoboken and working on launching a food truck.
  • Dark Side of the Moo is reopening this Tuesday after some recent minor renovations.

Start Something Challenge 2016 - Jersey City Entrants

It's time for this year's Start Something Challenge from Rising Tide Capital. The Start Something Challenge is a business pitch competition for New Jersey entrepreneurs that give entrants the chance to not only gain feedback, but win ipads for their business, cash prizes, and one grand prize of a $10,000 business grant.

After being rescheduled, the next Table Talk Live event by Hudson Kitchen will take place on Tuesday, June 28th. Titled "Beyond the Plate: How to be Seen, Heard and Remembered", the seminar will focus on how food businesses can enhance their marketing to help improve their business.

  • Pint decided to donate all their proceeds last Sunday night to Orlando survivors and they were able to raise over 3,000 dollars. 
  • The former Sushi Tango space is being taken over by Wurstbar and they're hoping to open in August. 
  • For the remainder of June, all proceeds from Yoga in the Park at Riverview Market will be donated to the One Orlando Fund. 
  • Modern Banh announced that they're now offering matcha banana pudding from Baonanas.

  • Cocoa Bakery is now carrying Lemon Blueberry cupcakes which they make annually to benefit Chemo Comfort, an organization that makes and provides comfort kits to chemo patients. The cupcakes will be available until June 12th.
  • On Tuesday, June 21st June 28th, Hudson Kitchen is presenting their next Table Talk Live, focusing on how to market food businesses. Tickets are $20/person.
  • Speaking of Hudson Kitchen, they recently featured an interview with local company Baonanas.

  • Hudson Kitchen is looking for food vendors for the 4th Annual Riverview Jazz Festival on Saturday, June 11th. 
  • Congratulations to Ahri's Kitchen on their one year anniversary. To celebrate, they're offering a dollar off every item until 4/27 and will be having their ribbon cutting on 4/28 with free seaweed soup and a gift certificate with every purchase. 
  • As part of their ongoing article series highlighting food in New Jersey, Saveur recently explored Jersey City's Filipino food. 
  • Bone In Food is moving their kitchen back to Jersey City this week. Because of the move, they are only offering provisions this week and no prepared meals, but they'll have them ready again in time for next week's deliveries.

Hudson Kitchen Presents Table Talk Live


Hudson Kitchen, a new culinary resource in Jersey City, is hosting the first occasion of its new education series Table Talk Live on March 9th.

Table Talk Live is a networking event for local food entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and those just interested to get together, discuss challenges and successes, and work together in an engaging and collaborative atmosphere.
