Giving Tuesday

Today is what has become known as "Giving Tuesday", an extension of and counter to the shopping-filled days of Black Friday, Shop Small Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

If you're able to give, there are a lot of great organizations working to protect the rights of food workers, addressing hunger, and helping keep people fed. Here are some options, both in and out of Jersey City.
Here's a list of food banks in Jersey City and Hudson County who can always use donations, both of food supplies and your time as a volunteer:

For some reason, the list above doesn't include the address to Sharing Place, one of the largest food banks in the area, so here's the information for that:

Grace Church serves a hot community breakfast to the homeless and those who need it every weekend and are always looking for more volunteers:

St. Lucy's Emergency Shelter is an emergency shelter for single men and women offering food, emergency housing, clothes, and referral services. They are in constant need of volunteers and donations and will accept cooked food as well as canned, non-perishable goods.

Here's a great list of food-related charities that can use your donations:

https://www.nokidhungry.org/ - every dollar raised today up to $100,000 will be matched by La Brea Bakery and CitiBank.

Your support for any and all of these goes much further than you can imagine.
Happy Giving Tuesday!
