- This Sunday, October 1st, the Riverview Farmers Market will host the People's Choice Apple Dessert contest. Anyone is welcome to bring an apple dessert made with NJ apples and anyone is allowed to taste and judge for a $5 ballot fee.
- Congratulations to Whealth who have now officially opened for business 7 days a week at 615 Pavonia Ave.
- For the next week through 10/1, Third & Vine is featuring the gin-based Bee's Knees cocktail. $2 from every cocktail sold will go to organizations to help support and protect bees.
- Darke Pines, a new sustainable butcher shop coming to downtown, has launched a kickstarter to help them get up and running. Rewards include a variety of sausages, a specialty apron, and a specialty dinner amongst others.
- The Lafayette Oktoberfest at the Baker Building is coming up on October 7th hosted by Lucky 7's - get ready for drinks from Brooklyn Brewery and Jameson, food by Mordi's Schnitzel, and more.
- Choc O Pain has added outdoor seating to their new cafe in the Heights.
- Congratulations to Cellar 335 on celebrating their one year anniversary and on winning the best bartender of NJ competition held by Rhum J.M.
- Join Talde on Sundays if you're not a football fan but still want to enjoy some delicious specials. From 1pm-8pm, they offer half-priced beer, wine, and well drinks plus an $8 dim sum menu.

Outside Jersey City
- New Jersey was ranked #6 on the list of happiest states and Food & Wine speculates the food might have a lot to do with it (with a mention of Razza's recent 3 star NYT review).
- As a reminder, Silly Chilly Hot Sauce is still running their kickstarter through 10/12. The project is currently a little more than 50% funded.
- The Fish Stand is hard at work on their new Cranford location and hope to open soon.
- Via Hoboken Girl, The Crepe Guru is relocation from Hoboken to a new location on Broadway in North Bergen and will be know as The Crepe Spot.
