The All About Downtown Street Fair Returns!

The All About Downtown Street Fair is back for its 6th Annual Celebration with over 300 vendors ranging from artisans to local shops to food trucks.

This year's celebration will run from 12pm-8pm on Newark Avenue, starting at Grove Plaza and running all the way to Coles Street. They'll have a special section for kids' activities including face-painting and rides, four stages throughout the festival with DJs and live music, and countless vendors ready to ply you with food, drink, and all kinds of purchasable goods.

Day-drinking
There will be three dedicated areas with some lounge space:
  • South House will have their now traditional beer garden going on Bay Street.
  • Zeppelin Hall will be providing some of their most popular imported beers in a beer garden on Barrow.
  • Left Bank will have a Burger Bar Backyard with an Island Vibes Reggae Party going on Jersey Ave.
If you feel like wandering through the fair with some drinks, that's always an option as well - Barcade, Pet Shop, Hard Grove Cafe, Satis Bistro and more will all be there with some other 21+ friendly options and if you're not up for the hard stuff, Lizzmonade, The Big Straw, and Squeeze'd will also be there with tea, lemonade, smoothies, and fresh juices.

Food
There's something for everyone with vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free options as well as classic favorites and new places to explore.
Van Hook Cheese is back again this year with cheese plates!
  • Ani Ramen, Porta, Moffle Bar, Doshe Korean BBQ, and Hong Kong French Toast are among the new vendors joining in this year.
  • Bread & Spoon and Busy Bee Organics are great options for gluten-free eaters.
  • Seafood lovers will enjoy having both Just BeClaws, Angry Archie's, and Tandy's Fish & Chips onsite.
  • Dark Side of the Moo, Benson's Barbecue, and The Archer are sure to have some great and delicious options for meat eaters.
  • Some good vegetarian and/or vegan options include The Guac Spot (great veggie sliders), Gypsy Grill, Two Boots Pizza, Eemas Cuisine, and the Omninon vegan truck.
  • Don't miss dessert - Milk Sugar Love, Moffle Bar, Glazed and Confused Donuts, Waffle It & Co, and Gia Gelato & Cafe will all be there to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Several tens of thousands of people are expended to converge on downtown to attend. This year, to help reduce parking and traffic issues and open up access, the festival has teamed up with DayTrippersNJ to provide free shuttle service to downtown from all the other neighborhoods in Jersey City.

I recommend bringing sunscreen and water, and otherwise just getting ready to have a good time!
