Located at 570 Washington Boulevard in Newport, this is the second location for Menya Sandaime, which first opened in Fort Lee in 2014 and quickly became one of the most popular restaurants in town. They don't have an extensive menu, but instead focus on making their own fresh noodles in-house and creating a long-simmered traditional tonkotsu broth which is then incorporated into several other flavor bases for different ramen styles. They do have a vegan/vegetarian miso broth available for any non-meat eaters and they often carry seasonal specials.
Outside of the mall, the Newport area is noticeably short of lunch options and Menya Sandaime is a welcome addition to the neighborhood with menu options ranging from $9-$13. While they haven't announced set hours, the soft opening is for both lunch and dinner, but hours are subject to change.
Stop by to welcome them to town and warm up with a bowl of ramen.
