Community News: Firehouse Pizza Now Open, Reservoir Fundraiser, and more

  • Congratulations to Firehouse Blazing Pizza on celebrating their Grand Opening this past Saturday. The restaurant is now open at 488 Central Ave in the Heights. 
  • The Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance will be holding this year's Spring Annual Season Opener and fundraiser at Vaibhav at 737 Newark Ave on Thursday, 5/3. Single tickets as well as group tickets are available. 
  • The HDSID Farmers' Market at Grove Street is returning for the first time this season on Monday, 4/30. It will run every Monday and Thursday through December. 
  • Ozu Foods will be starting their summer hours this week and will only be serving lunch on Fridays from 11:30am-2:30pm. 
  • Jerkin Chicken will be celebrating their 6th anniversary this Saturday, 5/5 at 234 West Side Avenue. They'll have food, music, and family-friendly fun. 
  • Crema has launched a new spring brunch menu to be offered every Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10 am. 
  • Thirsty Quaker will be holding brewing classes this spring at Hudson Table. They'll be focusing on sours in May and stouts in June. 
  • Third & Vine is changing up their hours beginning this week. 
  • Hooked will be closed tomorrow, 4/30, but will resume normal operations on Tuesday, 5/1.
  • Mathews is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party this Saturday, 5/5 and a portion of the proceeds will be going to St. Judes's. They'll have passed appetizers, drink specials and more. Tickets are $40 and the party begins at 4pm
Outside Jersey City
  • Playa Bowls, known for their colorful acai bowls and smoothies, is now open in Hoboken.
  • Angry Archie's is now working with Pop Up NY and will soon be opening in Manhattan for the first time.  
  • The Satis Bistro in Bloomfield has reopened as Braun's Tavern and Dining Room. They've revamped the menu and have created a different, more family-friendly and relaxed tone for the space.
