Square 1 Jersey City Opening Soon

New restaurant Square 1 Jersey City is coming to Journal Square.

Located on the corner of St. Paul's Avenue and Liberty Avenue at 283 St. Paul's, Square 1 is a self-described community eatery focusing on breakfast and lunch, at least for the meantime. They do plan to offer pop-up dinners from time to time to help get them prepped for eventual full-time dinner service. The owners want to focus on fresh, healthier, relatively simple options like European-style sandwiches, soups, and grain and green salads and they hope to split the menu pretty evenly between vegan, vegetarian, and meat-based dishes.

Set-up as an eat-in cafe, Square 1 will have a coffee bar with a variety of freshly-roasted brewed coffee drinks and they'll offer grab and go options along with more traditional made-to-order meals.

They're very close to opening, just waiting for final permits from the city and in the meantime, they're working on hiring and training some additional staff, particularly baristas and prep cooks. Once they open to the public, the restaurant will be open from 7am-3pm every Tuesday through Sunday.
