Frankie Opens Today

Frankie, the Australian-inspired natural wine bar and eatery, is launching their soft opening to the public today.

I was able to get a sample of what's to come at their preview night last week and was impressed with what I saw. The space has a lot of interesting design features and a relaxed but upscale lounge feel with seating mostly provided by well-appointed couches which fit the atmosphere well although might make dining a bit difficult.

The drinks will be chiefly focused on their strong selection of natural wines, but there is a full bar available and on the night of the preview, they were serving up an excellent mezcal punch.

While I only tried samples of some of the food, again, what I tasted was very good. They managed to get a good fry going for the fish and chips that resulted in minimal greasiness and when paired with their housemade tartar sauce, it was a very flavorful dish. They also had an excellent appetizer of citrusy herbed yogurt dip paired with some incredibly soft and fluffy grilled pita bread, and one of my favorites, a mildly spicy zucchini noodle dish tossed with parmesan.

No official menu has been posted yet, but they'll be open for dinner beginning at 5pm. Congrats to Frankie on the opening!
