4th of July Weekend, 2015



Kick off the long weekend Thursday night with a special Food Truck Rally, held at the lot on Newark and Brunswick from 5pm-10pm. Chopping Block, ME Casa, and new vegan truck Green Radish will all be there!

Zeppelin Hall is having a Rib Rumble that runs from Thursday, July 2nd through Monday, July 12th with 20 different kinds of ribs.

Van Vorst Farmer's Market will still be open until 3pm on Saturday, July 4th, so don't forget to stop by for your last minute barbecue needs. Both the Riverview Market and the Farmer's Market at Lincoln Park will be open on Sunday so you can restock.

The Iron Monkey is planning an All American Weekend with $4 pints from July 3rd - July 5th of all Sam Adams drafts and Traveler's Grapefruit Shandy. They'll also have a special July 4th menu and giveaways.

Sam a.m. will be open all weekend long and they have a special surprise planned for the 4th, so stay tuned!

In honor of the long weekend, Barcade will be doing special beer taps beginning at noon on Friday, July 3rd.

On Friday & Saturday, Raval will keep the kitchen open until midnight and they'll be running $5 drink specials after 11pm.

O'Learys Publik House is taking a dollar off all drinks on July 4th.

Taphaus has a 4th of July BBQ planned with drinks specials and a BBQ themed menu. They'll also be offering free giveaways all day.

On Saturday night, stop by the Kitchen for some pre-fireworks dinner. They'll have a special 4th of July BBQ menu along with their regular menu.

Union Republic will have a 4th of July brunch from 10am-4pm, but will be closed for dinner.

July 4th & 5th, Brightside Tavern is having a $20 brunch special which includes your entree and three mimosas.

Cocoa Bakery will be open until 3pm on Saturday, July 4th for all your 4th of July dessert needs.

Roman Nose will be open for brunch until 4pm but closed for dinner.
Smith & Chang and the Warehouse will be closing at 3pm on Saturday, July 4th.
O'Lala Empanadas will be closed on Saturday, July 4th, but they will be at Liberty State Park as a vendor, enjoying the Freedom and Fireworks Festival (more below).
Thirty Acres will be closed Saturday, July 4th through most of next week, reopening on Thursday, July 9th.
Saigon Cafe will be closed Saturday, July 4th, also reopening on Thursday, July 9th
Pasta Dal Cuore will be open on Friday, selling fresh pasta beginning at noon and the restaurant will be serving dinner from 5pm-11pm but they will be closed the rest of the weekend, reopening on Tuesday, July 7th for regular hours.

And of course, also on Saturday, is one of the biggest events of the year in Jersey City- the 2nd Annual Freedom and Fireworks Festival! Held at Liberty State Park, the event is free and includes a beer garden, rides, games, live music, plenty of food from Jersey City and beyond, and of course, a huge fireworks show with a gorgeous view! The entire event runs from noon - 10 pm, and if it's anything like last year's, so much fun. Food vendors include trucks and stall vendors and include everything from sushi to pizza to BBQ to ice cream. Walking or public transportation recommended!
