Weekend Events

Start drinking a lot of coffee, Jersey City! You'll need it with all the great events happening around town this weekend!

Tonight, join the Chopping Block and El Chilango at the Lumberyard in Jersey City Heights for dinner beginning at 6:30pm and live music starting at 7pm. El Chilango has even created special shrimp and skirt steak dishes for the event!

942 Summit is hosting a special botanically-inspired Avant Garden event to benefit the Riverview Community Garden with custom-created goods and refreshments.

On Saturday, check out the recently opened Arlington Park Farmer's Market in Bergen Lafayette to pick up produce for the week ahead or just a quick lunch or head over to Van Vorst Park for their weekly Farmer's Market from 8am-3:30pm.

The Village Block Party, presented by 4th Street Arts and benefiting the Village Neighborhood Association, 4th Street Arts, and the Brunswick Community Garden,  will be running from 12pm-10pm at Newark Ave and Brunswick. There will be live music all day, performances, kids activities, an art show, and tours of the Brunswick Community Garden. The Incrediballs, Me Casa, El Chilango, Iced Tea Fusion, Madame Claude, and Third & Vine will all be there providing food and drinks (including wine from Madame Claude and craft beer and Brunswick Garden herb-inspired cocktails from Third & Vine). This will be an amazing all-day party full of great food and drinks, so stop by and enjoy!

On Sunday, both Lincoln Park and the Riverview Farmer's Market are on as scheduled and Chopping Block will be back in the Heights, serving up food all day long at the Riverview Market.

Sunday afternoon, check out 6th Borough Market at Marin & Montgomery. They've always got a full line-up of great food and craft vendors and this week will be no exception.

Sunday evening is the kick-off dinner for Feed JC's Dinner in the Park event. Tickets are available now for this 4 course benefit dinner celebrating Jersey City's culture and history and this month's dinner is being held in Lincoln Park.

As a reminder, Grace Van Vorst Church holds a homeless breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, but because of recent construction, they aren't able to cook. If you're able, please drop off a pan of food at 7:30am to help out.

Have a great weekend Jersey City!
