HDSID Farmers Market Celebrates 10 Years!


The HDSID Farmers Market at Grove Street is celebrating their tenth anniversary!

Today marks the opening of the farmers market for the season and the HDSID is kicking it off with a tenth anniversary party. The festivities will start at 3pm today 5/1, with a ribbon-cutting by the mayor and music from Dancing Tony of the Rockit-Docket. Stony Hill Farms will have a tractor onsite and there will also be beer, wine, and a cake from Jersey City Sweets. 

The market started as a short seasonal event with only a few vendors including Stony Hill and Hoboken Farms who have been there every year since. That was my first year in Jersey City and I didn't even know it existed, but since then, it has grown to include approximately thirty rotating vendors including local brick and mortar shops and now runs from May through December.  This year's vendors include:
