Jersey City

  • FM Jersey City, the 70's inspired lounge that moved into the former Union Republic space at 340 3rd street, will be open starting this Wednesday, 5/3.
  • Congratulations to Midnight Market for their mention in the NY Times about the growing popularity of nighttime food markets. 
  • Sam a.m. announced the name of their new restaurant: The Oak on Pine - and the wonderful inspiration behind it. 
  • 902 Brewing opened a new storage warehouse in Jersey City and they're working on building out a taproom. 
  • Congratulations to Bucket & Bay on making it into the finals of the North American Gelato Artisan Competition. 
  • The Riverview Farmers Market will return next week with a great list of vendors.
  • Brewshot at Liberty Harbor has started offering brunch on the weekends. 
  • Join Barcade for their third Bock Beer Night & Fundraiser this Thursday, May 4th. A portion of the proceeds will go to support the goats at the Harsimus Cemetery.
  • 9 Bar Cafe is hiring for baristas. 
  • Bambino Chef is hosting a drop-off cooking event on May 6th for kids ages 4-8 beginning at 11am
  • Chef Lynn Wheeler celebrated his last night at Third & Vine. The staff will continue with the current menu but he will be missed. 
Outside Jersey City
  • New Jersey has a new brewing company - Death of the Fox. They'll be offering house brewed coffee as well as beer. 
  • Trader Joe's in Hoboken has pushed back their opening date to May 19th.
  • Congratulations to Bareburger on being named the #1 burger chain in New Jersey. The closest location is in Hoboken. Zinburger, which is set to open soon at the Newport Mall, was also a top contender, coming in at #3.
