Your Guide to Project: Market 2017


Project Market returns this weekend, running both Saturday 12/2 and Sunday, 12/3 from 11am-6pm. They'll have lots of great vendors featuring vintage, specialty, and hand-crafted goods for all your holiday gifting needs.

They'll also have a ton of delicious food to help keep you fueled for all the shopping ahead and it's the perfect spot to pick up a few food-related gifts for the obsessed eater in your life - or just some good host/hostess gifts. Here's your guide on where to eat and what you should look forward to:

The Food

Gluten Free
Bone In - Local and sustainable farm fresh food, available Sunday only.
Good & Pleasant - Offering gluten-free baked goods, they'll be at the market on Saturday only.
Koro Koro - Gluten-free onigiri-inspired rice balls. Vegan options available.
Moffle Bar - Mochi and waffle batter combine for a crispy, gooey, flavorful sweet treat.

Vegan
Bread & Spoon - While their selection varies, Bread & Spoon is known for their vegan-friendly baked goods, condiments and more. Make sure to ask before purchase. Gluten-free options also available.
Eemas Cuisine - A favorite at the markets, stop by for Hawaiian and Filipino-inspired eats like the musubi. They always have both meat and vegan options available. 
Salt + Seed - Creative vegan food like carrot asada tacos and buffalo chickpea wraps. Sunday only.

Dessert
Choc O Pain - Get a taste of France with their delicious croissants, pastries, and more. 
Helmut's Austrian Strudel - Authentic strudel stuffed with a variety of fillings like almond, apricot, cheese and more.
Waffle It & Co - Their unique and crispy Belgian liege waffles and choose-your-own toppings make this a must-try. 

Everything Else
Ahri’s Kitchen - Known for their Korean specialties, this year, Ahri's is bringing dumplings to the market.
Angry Archie's - A festival favorite, this is the spot for crabcakes, lobster rolls, and more. 
Grandma Downtown - Grandma Downtown will be bringing their signature stuffed breads as well as soup to help keep you warm while you shop. Available Saturday only. 
Gusti Di Sicilia - Traditional Sicilian specialities like arancini, paninis, and more. Vegetarian options available. 
Meta - Meta is new to the market, but their fast-casual Asian street food was a big hit over the summer at other markets around town. Look forward to dishes like Sichuan veggie rice cakes, pork belly bowls and more. This is my number one must try.
Modcup Coffee Co. - Fuel up before making your way around the market or for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up with Jersey City's own micro-roaster. 
Stella's Empanadas - A staple of the markets in Jersey City, Stella's Empanadas come with a variety of fillings including vegetarian options.
Talde - Their unique Asian fusion dishes always draw a crowd, so make sure to swing by early in the day. 
The Cow and the Curd -  The Cow and the Curd returns with their famous fried cheese curds and dipping sauces.
The Guac Spot - Get your guac fix with The Guac spot's tacos, veggie sliders and more -Saturday only.

Gift Guide 
Make sure to check out these stands for great local gifts for your favorite food/drink/cooking enthusiasts. 
Busy Bee Organics - Busy Bee will be bringing back their popular s'mores hot chocolate with a graham crumb rim and a peppermint marshmallow which you can enjoy while perusing their flavored nut butters and spice packets which make excellent stocking stuffers.
Bread & Spoon - while they'll have plenty of ready-to-eat treats, Bread & Spoon is also a great resource for locally made jams, chutneys, and they'll be preparing custom baskets. 
CoolVines -  CoolVines is your one stop shop if you're hoping to put together an array of specialty treats or pick out a couple great bottles for gifting.
Filfil Foods, LLC - Filfil specializes in garlic sauce, sure to punch up any meal. 
Hoboken Farms - the sauces from Hoboken Farms make dinner a breeze and are the perfect complement to a gift basket of locally made foods. Available on Sunday only. 
Oh Honey - offering different varietals of raw honey made locally, Oh Honey is a great gift if you have family or friends in another state and want to bring them a taste of N
Outer Limits Hot Sauce - with the creative labels and varying heat indexes, these hot sauces are perfect for anyone who likes a little (or a lot) of spice in their life.
Taproot Organics - while many of the Taproots Organics soaps smell good enough to eat, I particularly love gifting their Chef's Special bar made with exfoliating coffee from ModCup to my favorite home cooks. 
The Thirsty Quaker - with everything from craft beer to make-your-own beer and wine kits, The Thirsty Quaker is your best bet for all things alcohol-related.
