Community News: Lucky 7's Rock & Roll BBQ, French Week, & More

Jersey City
  • The City Council will be holding a special meeting to discuss the city budget this Tuesday, 7/10 beginning at 6pm. It's open to the public and will be held at City Hall. 
  • Lucky 7's Annual Rock & Roll BBQ is this Saturday, 7/14 beginning at noon. There will be a full day of live music, beer, whiskey, barbecue, cornhole, and much more. 
  • The French-American Academy is celebrating French Week all this week leading up to Bastille Day next Saturday, 7/14. They've teamed up with local restaurants like Choc-O-Pain, La Cote, Madame Claude Wine, Vogue Cafe and more to hold special events and happy hours. A portion of the proceeds will go to the French-American Academy and the Hudson Pride Center. 
  • Per Jersey Digs, Chipotle has signed a lease to open at 26 Journal Square, right by the PATH. They will open in 2019. 
  • VB3 is hosting a four course dinner and wine pairing with Terlato Wines on Tuesday, 7/10. It begins at 6:30pm and is $50/person. 
  • The Hutton will now be open on Mondays beginning at 5pm. 
  • Graze and Braise has launched a new summer menu featuring some lighter options with local vegetables. 
  • LITM is hosting Jersey City Slam for a regional team poetry slam that will help them raise funds to send the team to Chicago for the National Competition. Doors open at 6:30 and there is a $10 suggested donation. 
  • Jersey and Co. Gelato, a new gelato shop on Mallory Ave, is now offering soft serve

Outside of Jersey City
  • Prato Bakery will be opening a second location in Hoboken at 201 Washington Street, at the corner of 2nd street. Work is underway and while they haven't announced an official date, it should be open soon. 
  • Pici Pasta Bar, from the owners of Short Grain & Tidal Poke, is now open in Hoboken. It's a casual spot offering pastas, sandwiches, and salads and they officially began their soft open this weekend. 
  • Koro Koro has closed their Hoboken location permanently. Their rice balls are available from the Jersey City store, the truck, and via FastBoy delivery.
