French Week in Jersey City

As mentioned in this week's Community News, this is French Week in Jersey City, promoted and organized by The French-American Academy here in town.

French Week is a great opportunity to sample a variety of French food, wine, and baked goods at restaurants and cafes throughout downtown, several of which are holding special events to help celebrate. The events will lead up to the big Bastille Day celebration on Saturday, 7/14. A portion of the proceeds will go to The French-American Academy Scholarship Program and to the Hudson Pride Center.

The full list of events can be found here, but some highlights include:

  • Happy Hours at several locations including at Atlas tonight, 7/10 from 5-7pm as well as La Cote, Madame Claude Wine, and more later in the week.
  • The Mad Hatter Garden Party at Vogue Cafe on Wednesday from 6-9pm on their outdoor patio with cocktails, appetizers, music and more.
  • Special treats and tastings from Choc O Pain every day this week from 10am-12pm
And of course, Bastille Day. To celebrate, The French-American Academy will be having a large street fair on 3rd street between Erie and Grove. There will be live music, can-can dancers, lots of great food, drinks, games, and even VIP wine and chocolate tasting throughout the day from 11am-6pm.
