Three Fundraisers from Sam a.m., Rita and Joe's, and Monty Hall

There are three great fundraisers happening in Jersey City over the next few days, all involving great food so seize the opportunity to eat well and help raise money for some very worth causes.

Rita and Joe's,142 Broadway, is donating 20% of every check subtotal on Tuesday-Thursday this week and next week to the Dante Alighieri Society of New Jersey to benefit the recent earthquake victims in Italy. They are also donating 100% of the proceeds from select wines on their menu.

Sam a.m is hosting a special event this Thursday, 9/8. Instead of the supper club, they'll be hosting "I'll Stand Bayou", a fundraiser and community dinner in the style of a Southern BBQ cocktail party benefiting victims of the August flooding in the Baton Rouge area. The suggested donation is $60/person, cash or check, and the menu will include bayou-inspired favorites like crawfish cornbread, creole braised corn, bayou baked chicken, and voodoo brownies. There is no formal seating, but reservations are required and can be made by emailing events@sam-am.com
