After what felt like an interminably long year that then ended rather suddenly, 2017 is here.
I have some longer write-ups on plans for the year coming soon, but for now, I wanted to do a quick recap of 2016.
Last year was a busy year in Jersey City. We had a slew of new restaurants open in several neighborhoods ranging from Noodlefan in Journal Square and Pho 888 on the West Side to Whealth Cafe and Tidal Poke Co. in Exchange Place.
To see the best of the best for the year, check out the Top Four New Restaurants in 2016.
Based purely on blog statistics, it's not a surprise that there continues to be such a wave of new restaurants. Here are the top posts of 2016 - you'll notice a common theme.
1) Mathews Opening Soon
2) PJ Ryan's Second Location
3) Latham House To Open
In addition, this year saw an increasingly strong Farmers Market presence and also introduced a couple of new events like the Midnight Market which will be coming back in February.
Hopefully, these trends will continue and we'll start to see more places, more diversity, more everything in 2017. Based off the 5 New Restaurants Coming Soon, it certainly seems like it.
Happy 2017 Jersey City!
